Richard Gonzalez is currently the General Manager First Transit Inc. Previously he was a project manager for a para-transit program that did up to 4000 trips a day. Richard found it exciting to be at the ground floor of the contract, from ordering a dumpster from the City of Boynton, to hiring over 120 employees. As this contract evolved from start up to on-going operations, He is concentrating on some key activities:
1. Safety: If we cannot do it safely, we should not be doing it at all.
2. Customer Service: Provide all the stake holders and interested parties with the service and feedback they desire.
3. Protect the interests of the company: I believe most General Managers do not give this item the importance/attention it deserves.
Richard was also project manager for my Metro's contract with Palm Beach County's transit agency. Every day he strove to have his team provide Transit Excellence to the residents of this county. He was responsible for safely transported over 12,000 people a day to their jobs and to their flights
In addition to his service as a board member of GBDCEI he is a Member or the Board Of Directors Coalition for Independent Living Options, Inc.
